Heya

long story short its another spec me a monitor thread

basically i sold my Asus PB278Q 1440p monitor and upgraded to the Samsung U28D590 4k monitor but after 1 delivery arriving with pieces missing and the Replacement having horrible Flickering and black screen issues i also RMA'd that and gave up

Im now back on an ASUS VG278HE monitor (1080p 144hz) and i hate being back on 1080p

So I'm on the look out for another higher rez screen but dont know what to get, i have been looking at

1440p

or do i try again at 4k with this

i have a sapphire 295x2 and MSI 290x GPU so i have the grunt for high rez and I play a lot ...no a hell of a lot of games .. no movies or design work

i will sell off the VG278HE so i don't have a particular Budget, but i don't want to pay ridiculous amount of cash like 2k and would like a min refresh of 60hz

I also have a stupidly priced 1.2 display port cable and a g-sync monitor is no use to me coz i have AMD cards

Any ideas on whats the best route?

This is a difficult one......as a gaming choice i would go for the Asus 4K option, but i have heard a lot of people having trouble with support and RMA's with them.

The BenQ will offer a better image quality than the Asus being a VA panel, but the pixel density isn't any different to a 1080p 24" screen.

Another option is to go for the AOC 4K Monitor......

heading towards the Asus one TBH just reading up on the Ben Q

had 3 asus monitors and all have been bang on, the samsung was the one that put me off

Either that or wait for the Swift? i know it has G-Sync but still its a 1440P TN screen @ 144Hz which is a far better option than the BenQ or the PB287Q

True but the price tag on that one is gonna be ridiculous! and looks like there is only a limited number coming into the UK from what i read

oooo decisions :D

TBH i'm in the same boat with a silimar budget, i have no idea what to go for as i have x2 780 GTX's and i'm not prepared to pay the amount they want for the Swift!

1440p any day of the week. 4k is still in the beginning and large jumps in performance are much more likely and thus you're more likely to be spending big again, sooner. 1440p from AOC or similar is a solid bet.

The 1440p are in about the same price bracket as the 4K, dont get me wrong i loved the Asus 1440p having sold it I'm feeling gutted and 1080p to 1440p is a much more noticeable than going 1440 to 4k

Gonna try the Asus 4K methinks, never had a bad monitor from them
