Help me choose a monitor...

Thanks could not find nothing on google.

Do you think it is worth an upgrade from what I currently have?

Also could you recommened a a 120hz monitor? prefrabley 24''

I have decided to get a 27'' screen as I need more space on the screen.

I have my eye on 2 monitors and would apcrecate it if you help me decide on which one is best.

Samsung SyncMaster P2770FH 27"

Viewsonic 27" VX2739WM

both of these have a response time of 1ms and have a resolution of 1920x1080.

The viewsonic has built in speakers and a 4 port USB hub over the Samsung.

These features dont really matter I just want the best image quality of the two,

Thanks

Go for whichever has the higher contrast ratio.
I personally always use Samsung monitors/TVs as I find the picture quality is excellent and the monitos are well styled too.

Oh, and you won't get any more screen space on a bigger screen if the resolution is the same without sacrificing image quality of what's on screen.
To me 27" seems a bit too big for a monitor at 1080p but that's just my personaly preference.

From what I gather about monitors, the claimed values for contrast ratios etc are pretty useless and you would be better off reading someones review of the monitor in question.

Both of those seem expensive for what they are e.g. the Hanns.G HH281HP here on OcUK offers 1920x1200 resolution and is a lot cheaper than them as well.

I'd wait for PCM2, he would be able to help you the most.

Why not stick to a 24" monitor but get a higher resolution 1920x1200 that way you will see more.

The Dell reviewed from bit-tech looks awesome, I really think more monitors should offer adjustable stands, I wonder if that unique resolution would cause any problems?

Yeah I wondered that too, could be an issue. But have a look around and you will see 1920x1200 monitors around.

I have seen people on the internet using much higher resolutins on a 27'' display how is it possible?

More expensive monitors may run 2560x1440 or similar resolutions even at 27", but these cost in the region of £700 so it may help to have a budget in mind.

I want to spend £300 on a monitor so what's your best recommendation?

Take a look at Hewlett Packard, they have a good range of monitors in the sizes you're after, stylish too.....

Personally I think 23-24" is optimum for a pc monitor especially at 1920x1080.

I'm going for the LG E2360 LED Monitor, it's superb and affordable.

One more thing, I'd seriously recommend LED over LCD from what I've seen first hand, LED is much more vibrant with better contrast ratios.

If you don't mind waiting, hold out until March this year for Samsung's new LED offerings, they look sexy as hell and they will be 3D enabled.

paying for the privilege lol 2560 is a very flexible and workspace friendly res

1920x1200 isnt a unique resolution [tho it soon will be!], its 16:10 and ive never had anything not accept it if it accepts 1080p
