Toying with the idea of upgrading my psu in readyness for going sli. I have a build to do for a freind and can pass him one of my psu's cheap to cover part of the cost. Currently using a antec high current gamer 620 watt.

pc spec is

3930k
16gb
gx670
single ssd and two 1tb hd's
xspc 750 water cooling kit.

when overclocking i've seen it use as much as 480watts at the wall under full load, and thats without loading the gpu. What i'm looking for is a modular power supply, no specific budget but preferably around £150 willing to go more if required, dont want to spend more than i have to, but want to get the right thing. Capable of running the 3930k at 4.6-4.8ghz and two gtx 670's in sli. I have about 7 fans and will probably be adding more drives and memory in future if it makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

They're excellent in terms of quality\performance but you pay a huge premium that IMO isn't justified. It's not like the HCG and Pro Core aren't Seasonic on the inside as well.

hcg 750 is by delta
the pro core is a m12 rebadge
not that they're in any way not good
they're pretty good

Given the op is using water cooling I'd assume noise level is a consideration.

So the Corsair AX Series would be the one to get if sound level is a major consideration as it doesn't power up the fan until it hits around 20% load.

All Seasonic / Deltas are not the same, you get what you pay for. They just tend not to make bad PSUs. :)

thanks guys a good few options there, i'm guessing 750w is plenty then? I thought it might need more but this is why I asked, the sb-e cpu's are very power hungry even before adding a couple gpu's!.

Noise is a consideration yes the machine isn't silent but I like to keep it as quiet as possible so i'll look into that ax series and see if its worth the extra to me.
