Help me choose a water cooling setup

I don't see any benefit from that though Weescott, the seal on 7/16th on 1/2" barbs (apart from EK) ones are perfectly fine and isn't BS. I wouldn't run clamp less anyway as it's a pointless risk for such a cheap item, so 7/16th on 1/2" barbs with clamp would be more than enough and 3/8th would be just more hassle to stretch over.

I tugged at my bay reservoir to fill/bleed my last setup which was 7/16th on 1/2" clamp less (before I applied plastic clamps) and there was pretty much zero give on the tubing as I cut just enough to go from the radiator to the reservoir. Tubing didn't move a hairs width.

Never ended up putting on the clamps in the end as just didn't get around to it, ran for 6 months leak free before selling stuff on.

1 thing, have you tried setting the fans to low on your Antec 900 as on high and maybe medium especially with 4 fans it can be fairly loud although when mines set to low i cant hear them, at all.

They all on low mate and system lovley and cool but still too loud. CPU never got above 46 degreees yet even when gaming

Really? Wow I can only just hear them with my head right next to the case with the side panel off, you must have incredible hearing or its something else or i have bad hearing :p

Mekrel:

I can see exactly where you are coming from and I agree to an extent.

7/16" is OK, I have and do use it however, with the amount I chop and change my cooling I see tubing stretch and become insecure. I would NOT use it without clamps, but with clamps I have no problem. The beauty with 3/8" tubing is that you really dont need clamps and have a peace of mind.

How do fan controllers work? What fan input will they accet? the white 4 pin conectors or will they take the larger 4 pin ones that you get to power IDE dvd drives etc... as they are the connections on my fans at the min. Can someone take a pic of the back of there fan control unit so I can see please?

Cheers

Input is the larger 4 pin molex usualy, and then its just a circuit board that splits the voltage onto the number of "channels", then has a variable resistor on each channel to adjust the voltage from 12V to ~5V. Then each channel outputs to a 3-pin fan header, like on motherboards.

If your fans are running off 4-pin plugs then they wont fit most fan controlers, as they normaly NEED the exta ampage that you can get off a direct molex, rather than through a motherboard or fan controler.

OK cheers mate. Means new fans needed. Its annoying that OCUK dont sel these Yate ones that you all rate
