Help me choose between PG279Q and X34P

Hi,

Help me choose between the Asus PG279Q or Acer X34P, the reason I'm hesitant to get the Acer x34P is that I will always have to upgrade to pretty much the latest in video card like TI and CPU I'm I wrong?

Also what is the competitor for Asus PG279Q?

Also I want a monitor like asus PG279Q but curved.

X34P easily. Ultrawide vs normal is just crazy insane.

I also think that 1440p 144hz panels are much more likely to drop in price than their ultrawide companions.

I deliberating over buying an X34A since its release.. and its still costing a bomb.

I think you'll need at least a 1080 to power these bad boys. a 1070 would maybe do ok..

I've had both. As someone who plays mostly shooters, I prefer the 1440p 165hz screens. I found UW too distracting.

For single player stuff like tomb raider etc the UW is glorious though.

I've had both plus the X34P along with my current 34GK950F-B (FU @prjwebb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111111!!!one)

The 27in monitors are fantastic, but the Ultra's definitely push your graphics card harder at times. Go for the best deal on one of the 27in models you can if this concerns you, they're both quite great (I have the XB271HU as a spare still lol)

Thx thx, I have choosen the 27" over the 34" mainly because I don't want to have to upgrade every 3 years my video card and CPU, so I will choose between the asus PG279Q and the Acer
XB271HU, now I have watched two youtube video and both say that the acer XB271HU has yeallowish tint background so I will choose the asus however I also saw both videos on youtube that say that asus has backlight bleed more than the acer, so whta I did was email the shop mwave.com.au to have the monitor checked for dead pixles and backlight bleed before sending me the monitor I have yet to receive a respone.

Unfortunately they declined, I need to find a shop that checks for dead pixels and backlight bleed. Do u guys know of a shop that would check the monitor for dead pixels and backlight bleed??? it can be anywhere in the world as I use a shipping company.

The shop that declined at first , they accepted later and they r gonna check it at no charge, this is the kinda shop I will tell all my friends about.
