I reckon you could get the 667 RAM upto and probably beyond 800mhz on the stanard 5-5-5-15 timings and higher if you loosen the timings.

I would imagine that they are the same chips used in both sets but the 667 are underclocked so you will probably void warrenty when you overclock as you will have to increase the voltages past the stock 1.8v.... althought I would love to know how THEY know that you have put the voltages past stock? I mean does the RAM remember and then tell them when you send it back??

If it was me I would prob save my money and get the slower sticks if your planning to O/C... which you say you are. If your not going to O/C I would prob get the faster one's.

I can't say about the mobo cause I haven't kept up with the latest mobo's but the rest looks nice. Should be able to clock that chip nice and high;)

What CPU cooler are you going to be using?

Just wondering, what you upgrading from?
 
i have a geminII that a mate gave me which i am going to mount the two 120mm fans onto. so hopefully that will give me enough room to overclock to 3ghz, im really looking forward to getting it all, i am hoping it will come monday. i heavnt built a computer in so long i hope i can figure it out :P, and i am upgrading from a p4 2.8ghz, 512mb ram and a ati x300. So it should be one hell of an improvement, it will probaly feel like warp speed.

This will be in a diffrent league to the Starship Enterpise;):D

Again not sure on the GeminiII but will deffinatly be an improvement over the retail one if O/C'ing.

What games/programs you gonna be running? ANYTHING you do on your new PC will be faster tho lol:D
 
games mainly and the odd visual studio c++ for my coursework, my current pc has a lot of psu problems as well so its not just a huge leap in performance but in reliability as well. Main games i am interested in are crysis, the withcher, cod4 .... probaly oblivion goty edition even though i have completed it on 360 i havent played the add-ons.. and mass effect if they do release it on pc (i really hope they do because my xbox 360 is at home in devon and i am at uni in leiceseter :( ). my current monitor is only capable of 1024x768 so i am expected pretty smooth ganeplay from all of them.

it seems to be okay (and better than the stock cooler) but not as good as say the tuniq tower. but i did get it for free so i aint complaining :) hopefully it will get me to 3.2 which is my goal
