Spec me some bits for first WC build
In 2 weeks time i'll be starting my new build and i want to have a go at watercooling it, cpu only for now.

Heres my spec first

Nzxt switch 810 matt black.
3570k
8gb 2133 black mamba. (Got)
Msi z77 mpower. (Got)
Seasonic x850. (Got)
1st 7970 lightning. (Got)
2nd 7970 lightning
128gb vertex 4

Right for the water cooling, i will be removing both cages in the switch and i want to go with a tube style res, also want to use the ek supremcy nickel acetal cpu block with black tubing and mayhems pastel yellow coolent.
Wanting a 360 rad to mount in the roof, should think a 45mm will be ample??
Then pump, just wanting something quiet and reliable and black!

Fittings, no idea about these, compression, barbs?? What do ya think for a beginner? Oh and yes.... Black
Will i need a fill port??

If its not too much to ask can someone make me a complete shopping list. Please, i'm sure you have got the jist of my theme!
Budget: not really got one but want to keep it low as possible whilst maintaing quality.
Oh and i dont think i will be putting the lightnings under water as there coolers are good enough and the expense will be too much.

1. Cpu block. Ek supremcy nickel acetal
2. Mayhems pastel yellow
3. Scythe gt 1450's
4. Res. EK multioption x2 250 advanced
5. Pump/top ocuk techlab xspc d5vario with ek csq top
6. Tubing (black)?
7. Fittings?
8. XSPC RX 360
9. Anything else??

Thx for your time.

See Gregsters spec, that should do for you as well, just swap out the 680 blocks for 7970 LTG blocks and you'd be good to go :)

45mm rads would be enough, but you have the room you may as well go for 60mm+, you can even fit the monster 80mm thick Alphacool rads in a switch 810.

Not going to be doing the lightnings, just cant afford that, already gonna be spending 2k+ on monitor, desk, keyboard/mouse, speakers and all of the above. More than happy with just cooling the cpu, and thats more for looks than performance.

Also - compression fittings look nicer but can be a right pain!!

My fingers were killing me after my recent build!!

Consider 1/2" barbs with 7/16" hose if you want to go down barb route. That way you'll have a nice tight fit.

Depends what compressions you use tbh, Bitspower, EK, Alphacool have all been really easy to screw on for me, OcUK High Flow compressions require a combination of brute strength and tools to clamp on :p

Will probably try Koolance compressions next.

If you are only doing the CPU then you'll be fine on just a single 360, but out of all the components in your case I would say the Lightnings need water more than a 2500K.

CPU only = XSPC RX360 D5 Raystorm kit + some fluid.

These are my thoughts
Although i only want to cool the cpu for now i want the ek block just in case say 6 months down the line i do the gfx and then they will match. And i agree that the lightnings will benefit more with water but i want it for the cpu mainly for aesthetics.
As for the rad i know the monsta fits but just say a couple of years down the line i want a smaller case, the monsta no doubt will not fit, so in all honesty 45-60mm will possibly the sweet spot for me and if i do wc the ltg's i could fit a 240 monsta in the bottom and that should do?? I think??

And for now i would like a cheapish pump/top to do the job for now(but as in op silent and reliable), again if i did gfx i would then change for a d5 or similar.

Cpu will be a 3570k
Will 1 bottle of fluid be enough??

Pump: If you want to save cash look at the DCP 2.2 or 4.0, though it wouldn't hurt just to go all out on a D5 now and save swapping it out later.

Res: Down to you tbh, D5 dual bay res if you want the res+pump compacted away, tube res to pump top if you want it more on show and quieter.

Fittings: Again take your pick, EK, Bitspower, Alphacool, Koolance are all fantastic fittings, just remember to match up the tube ID/OD with the fitting ID/OD.

Those fittings will fit that tubing, though you may want to go with clear tubing and perhaps the oil black mayhems X1, clear tubing is advisable for first time users as you can see any air pockets etc...

And yes pretty much the LT is the same as the PRO without the screen :)

Thx, i want yellow in my res though :(
Think its gotta be worth the pain/gamble to get what i want :p

Too use a 45rotary adapter do i use a standard fitting as well such as this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-137-EK&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=1852 and this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-108-EK&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=1778 together?

do i need a top??? and what do they do??

Top is for flow/head pressure I think. Not sure if you get aftermarket tops for that pump as I'd imagine its essentially an Eheim pond pump that aquacomputer have modded.

You may need the adaptors for the pump, iirc the inlet is g1/2 and the outlet g1/8, ocuk do sell these however.
