I currently have an antec 300, and after literally squeezing a 5870 in there its getting a bit hot sometimes. Size is not an issue. However i do like the Antec 300's simple design. Im considering The Antec 1200, but ive been told by friends that there are better available, like coolermaster. Price range isnt definate, but no more than £200 please, and black.

I have an Antec 1200 and its a superb case. Plenty of room for your 5870, great airflow and fantastic for cable management

Liking Lian Li's case, but i have a sound card with a front pannel which i actually use. Im still swaying towards the Antec 1200. The Coolermaster ATCS 840 looks good, but is it functional?

Cheers for the info guys keep it coming.

Using a Lian Li A70F here, same case internally as the A71F, only difference is that it doesnt feature a door.

You should aslo maybe consider buying better fans for your current case if you are using the antec ones, could well end up getting some improvements that way.

So am I using headphones plugged into X-Fi's 5.25" module.
Just couldn't find 1/" right angle adapter here in Finland so had to build adapter cable with angled plug in one end and jack in other.
Cable fits out nicely from gap between front panel and door's edge allowing keeping noises inside. Original A71 had that gap open but it would be easy to do small notch into FB's rubber strip in that gap.

ATCS 840 is CM's best case with quite good functionality. (although Lian Li's internal BS-03 PCI cooling kit is quite more functional than CM's rear wart)
Frame is just very thick so its weight is unusually high for Alu case and mass damping panels would make it as heavy as steel case.
But I guess you aren't that much "noise aware" considering current case... ;)

Lian Li PC-A71FB I would get that for a little more than the cm 840.
When you start approaching £150-£180 for a case you should be looking at the lian li full tower range really or hold out for the corsair 700d.
Btw I like how you call the Haf ugly but like the looks of the antec 1200 :D

A big case does not mean better for air cooling in general most people get the massive cases like the lian li and cm 840 for water cooling.
Don't be put off some of the smaller mid tower cases because you think the cooling wont be good, am sat here with an ft01 and the temps are nice 5770 idling at 30c full load 60c 6420 @ 3.2 ghz sat at 22c and I am not even using it's positive air pressure.

My last case the akasa eclipse also a mid tower has fantastic cooling ability too.

The Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced Dominator does seem like a good mesh of price features performance.
Look at 5:00 in the vid I posted all the best cases the hard drive bays are removable or modular so you can open up space for that front intake.

Comes a point where the temps you get are based on the cpu or gpu cooler itself rather than case or airflow.
