Right then, new build parts so far:

Ryzen 5600x
Asus Strix X570-E
EVGA 1080Ti (eventually to be replaced with a 3080)

I game on a 1440p ultrawide 120hz G-Sync monitor, so I'm not chasing e-sports 400+ FPS @ 1080p, I generally play Total War type games, and soon to be Cyberpunk (eventually).

Now, I've read the various dual/single rank Ryzen discussions, timing effects etc, but I'm just after gaming performance, I'm not interested in super tight timings to get a better benchmark score. With that in mind I'm looking at getting 2x16GB 3600mhz memory, is there anything 'wrong' with something like this:

Yes it's CAS18, not the illusive 14/16 that everyone wants, but at 1440p ultrawide I'll be GPU bound way before the CPU taps out. That memory above is available (a lot of sets seem out of stock) and can be had for under £140.

So, will I see any difference in my setup if I pay £200+ for a CL14/16 set?

Having checked the motherboard approved RAM list for your CPU I found that the model you have chosen is not on it.
I would however recommend one that is on the list which is CMK32GX4M2Z3200C16, It has a slower speed but less latency so you will not notice any difference.
Unfortunately Overclockers is out of stock. I would advise you further on availability, but this is an Overclockers forum so will leave that up to you where you buy it.

The 3200Mhz version is approved, and the 16GB version of the 3600Mhz that I've linked is approved, I'd find it very unlikely that the 32GB version wouldnt work. This is a pretty basic Corsair ram kit afterall

Well I got the 3600 kit for £35 less than OC are selling the 3200 kit for, at the vendor I purchased from there was a £10 difference between the 2 kits. I guess I'll find out next week if it works though.

Thank you for the advice though, reading back my tone was a bit arsey

No worries. That is why I put on a smiley face.
Good call on the pricing. OC do seem to be a bit inflated these days and short a lot of stock.
I expect it will work. Your logic in your previous statement stacks up. Your lucky to get a 5000 series. Enjoy!

Thank you.

I've actually ended up with 2 5000 series CPU's by mistake! Currently on hold to the vendor trying to send one back!
