Help me date this tyre

I found some tyre in the back of my shed that I bought for an Escort Cosworth as few years back and never fitted them. I am trying to date them to see if they're worth selling or not.



As far as i remember the date should be the last four digits of the DOT number but it doesn't seem to make sense on this tyre, 2148 would be week 21 of 2048.....

The tyres' are Yokohama A520's if that helps.

How long is a few years? The A520 was first manufactured in 1998, which would make sense for a three digit date code (14th week in 1998).

Pre 2000 dating only had three digits

I'm not so sure that's the correct marking, any other groups of 3 or 4 digits moulded into an oval?
Slackjaw is right about the pre 2000 dating only having 3 digits, there's usually a "<" in the 4th positon.
A520's were pretty good, I had some on my Sierra Cosworth but they're pretty old now.

It's obviously extremely old so just recycle it, your not going to get much for it and it might not be very safe.

8 years is about the accepted life, Porsche say 6, all to be judged by condition/storage/useage though
