Our Hisense 55" just died after 2 years. It was still under guarantee, so we were given a full refund by Costco. It was one of their cheaper models (£330), but we were quite happy with it (especially considering we upgraded from a 42" plasma!).

I'm now looking to replace it with a 65".

My options are (all through Costco):
Lower end: Hisense 65A7GQTUK = £600
Mid level: Hisense 65U8GQTUK = £750
Top end: LG OLED65C14LB = £1,390

We mostly use the TV for:
  • 80% streaming (Netflix, Prime, Disney, iPlayer)
  • 15% live TV through freesat
  • 5% Nintendo switch
I know that this is a really good price for the LG, but I'm wondering if its really worth double (or more than double) the Hisense options. I know its better...but is it that much better?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't know about these specific TVs, but my opinion in general about LG is that they are very good for product quality, one of the best. As you probably know, LG are South Korean, and this country is one of the most technologically advanced on the planet, with very high standards. Hisense has not been going that long, and is Chinese, and seems to be focused on cost competitiveness above all else. Personally I would be prepared to pay for the LG, because I find high quality products will often last a lot longer, so end up cheaper in the long run.

Thanks all.

Went for the LG C1 65", and I have to say, it is freakin amazing. Picture is incredible, and even the sound is pretty good. Exceeded my expectations.
