Help me decide on a 970

I'm in a dilemma, over which 970 to go for, I've only got one requirement it needs to have triple fans, with the centre fan being on blow, and the 2 outer being on blow, I'm going to be using the Silverstone TJ08, and with it being reversed, and inverted, the only air flow will be from the front 180mm AP fan.

With this in mind there are only 2 to choose from, the Inno 3D iChill Air Boss, this has the advantage of the 4th fan on the edge, but my god it's fuggly, it would need a bit of a tart up, to make him pretty. Or the ( my favourite ) Zotac Amp extreme, which I think looks dam sexy, well with the lights of any way. They are both the same price, that's with the price match 5UB has sorted out, well done OCUK.

The Zotac has 2 selling points, you can use their software to turn the lights off, and with it taking 2 x 8 pins rather than 2 x 6 pins, the OC'ing potential seems to be better. So Ideas on a postcard please guys.:D

Out of those two the AMP is a monster..

I have to question though, why does it need to be 3 fans?

To start with, i have (had, as my PC is 1000's of miles away now) a TJ08-E so i know the case and its cooling very well.

I had a few cards in that case but by far the best was my GTX 670 TFIV (now called the MSI 'Gaming' Series). Those fanswere super quiet but had the card so cool it was unreal. The 'limited' case cooling isn't really true as the 180mm AP fan is a monster. On the highest setting it sounds like a jet engine and thats not the fan noise, its the noise of the AIR moving through the fan.. Thats how much air its shifts. As long as you have a good Air pulling fan on the back any daul Fan GPU will thrive in their.

FOr reference i had a 1 fan EVGA GTX 570 in their too and it was a little toasty, but the MSI TFIV (gaming) is a great choice..

Other options are:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £299.99
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £289.99
1 x GALAX GeForce GTX 970 EX OC "Black Edition" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (97NQH6DNB4TX) £281.99
Total : £881.57 (includes shipping : £8.00).

It was a decision made purely on case layout, and with the 2 cards mentioned they have both push, and pull fans, it was more of a " I think the cooling could be poor " Also the look I'm going for is to almost fill the case.

Yea the Amp extreme is a beast, out of the 2 that is my first choice, I've just found out you can turn of the Air boss lights, it's just a shame it's got those red claw look bits on it.

True but in my experience the MSI was amazing. I'm sure you'd get the same performance from that was you would from the AMP.

Filling the case isn't a great idea for airflow, as you say. You need space for the air to travel around the case.

The Evga SC maxes out at 75C the fans dont turn on until 60C though, its a nice card, bit hot compare to others i think? Fans are kinda noisy at 40% too but the coilwhine is the main thing you want to worry about with the 970s! Id be happy with any 970 that had 3 years warranty as long as it didnt whine!

Coil whine is a lottery though, some cards have coil whine reduction but they still can't assure you won't suffer from it. It could happen with any card, no matter how much you spend.
