Help me decide on a DS game!

Hi,

I feel like buying a DS game, preferably an addictive and long one, perhaps an adventure/RPG. But I can't decide, there's too many to choose from!

I only have a few games allready (Mario64, Animal Crossing, Wario Ware) so pretty much open to any suggestion. I was thinking about these games;

New Super Mario Bros
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Final Fantasy III
Mario And Luigi: Partners In Time

Any decent games I've missed? If not which out of those would you get?

Phoenix Wright! Out of that list i would recommend FFIII

Pheonix Wright looks interesting, and Pokemon is another one to think about. I'll look into them more later, thanks.

Revenant Wings is good.

One you have missed that is pretty class is Professor Layton and The Curious Village. Superb puzzle based adventure game. Really addictive.

Think I've decided I want a classic RPG type game, with lots of leveling up, stats, learning new skills etc. So I'm thinking either Pokemon or FF III any others to consider?

FF Revenant Wings is different to the classic FF style right? I don't like the look of the RTS style combat.

Yeah thats right, RTS. Its not that bad mind, quite good fun.

I enjoyed Pokemon more than FFIII if im honest.

I love my DS rpg type games and the ones I've enjoyed most out of my list are these.

Mario & Luigi Partners in Time - Great little game. Level up and assign some points each level to one skill, mainly HP, Power, Defence. Can buy items to upgrade defence, attack etc and badges that help cure etc. Loads of puzzles.

Final Fantasy III - Pretty standard Final Fantasy game. Turn based combat. Make the character what you want, mage, healer etc.

Phantom Hourglass - Not a typical rpg but complete fun. Little to no upgrading of the character apart from items. Fast combat with the stylus.

All of these will give you loads of hours of play. I'm about 1/2 way through Mario & Luigi after 10 ish hours.

Great game for long and short sessions, if only you could save after every level though

space invaders extreme is an addictive little game.

Re reading your post, those games you have listed are all superb (though I do not like MP:Hunters). Personally I feel Mario kart on the DS is one of the best games you can get.

Pokemon will keep you occupied for ages

i would recommend importing Ninja Gaiden or Jump Ultimate Stars though, best games on the ds imo

Think we're too late but I really enjoyed that game. Just playing some Professor Layton and I might pick up on some more Zelda. We could do with an official DS thread. Its hard to search for on this system it seems.

NEW SUPER MARIO BROS.!!!!!!111!1!1!1ONE

That game is sex in a ds cartridge. The sounds are mint the gfx are slick its so god dam addictive, it will last you ages. I hate playing games again and ive played this game to death; loads after completing it. These type of mario games are my fav, beat any fps any day.

agreed, its a shame the game is a little easy though

Getting all 80 coins is a challenge, surely.

Also, Mario Kart and Tetris are both brilliant on the DS.
