Help me decide, which camera?

Hey,

Looking to upgrade from my current compact camera (Fuji F500 EXR) which has been a great little device.

I don't think I want to go for a full DSLR set up at the moment, so have been looking at a lot of the slightly smaller mirrorless setups.

I have, for the minute, narrowed my choice down to the Lumix DMC G3 or the Samsung NX1000.

Both Panasonic and Samsung are doing cashback deals and promotions at the moment and am having difficulty deciding which one to buy.

I like the look and the feel of the Lumix G3, more so than the Samsung NX1000, but reading up on the specs and comparing sample images, the Samsung appears to produce 'better' images and video.

But I'm not sure I can get over the whole build quality and feel of the NX1000.

Would love to hear from owners of these cameras or thoughts from the OcUK collective in general to help me decide.

For the minute? You might be better off just buying a low end dslr with a kit lens. Otherwise you will buy a camera now then later on buy a dslr as well. I was tempted to get a bridge camera but I got myself a 400D with a 18-55mm kit lens. I was/am very pleased with it.

If you want to save a little try mpbphotographic.co.uk. Second hand equipment but most of it is brilliant condition if not mint condition and you get 6 months warranty.

Thanks for the post and link, added the site to my bookmarks. :)

Still think am going to go down the mirrorless/compact route, if I do upgrade to a DSLR, then it will probably be twelve months down the line.
