Help me decide which CPU cooler...

First link was Thermalright Silver Arrow for £38-39.. can't remember exactly.

I'm running Zaward Vapor 120 on an Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz stock @ 3.5GHz Prime 46c on wife's system. Very quiet in normal use and not loud even at full speed.

the come with a 90 day warranty from OCUK. Some things that would not be good, but only thing that might go out on a cooler is fan / fans... and if they don't give an problem in 90 days they will be fine.

It's a good cooler but I have no personal experience with it. One radiator lays flat over ram so you have one fan blowing down and one blowing back... and it comes with no fans so you would need to buy fans. That's another 20 quid or more.

Assume OCUK will have Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E here soon

There's even a Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme with TY-143 2500rpm fan coming out soon.

Thanks for all the suggestions but in the end I went with the Gelid.

Not the best choice I know, but I had to either skimp on this or the GPU and I thought in a couple of months I can always just get rid of the Gelid as its fairly cheap and upgrade then if I need too!

I tried a thermolab baram on my old 3.8ghz q6600, it was terrible. 78c on the highest core. Hence i stuck with my old TRUE black, 68c. Using a k2 on my current i7 920, a great cooler.

Do catch up at the back Helios. I said the same thing 4 posts earlier.:D

Good low priced coolers.

The TRUE is a fair bit better than the Baram but the latter isn't terrible by any means. It's certainly better than the likes of the CM212 or Gelid Tranquillo. But that VX is even more tremendous value.
