Right, thing is i purchased a XPC Shuttle SN25P (939) 3 weeks ago and have loved it until recently when the temps have all rose to well over 40 and im not happy with them being that high, so these are my choices

  • Take my current parts and put them back into my Antec 900 and use that statisfactory with very nice temps and quiet operation, just a bit bigger. find a cheap 939 cpu and 1GB ram and lesser harddrives and just use it as a small media center

well case temp, cpu socket temp, cpu cores and motherboard temp have all risen.

i spose it could be down to the hot weather, damn it! :( prefer cold

and theres some problems im having, the XPC tool for controling fan speeds doesnt work for the 2 rear 60mm fans which extract the heat from around the harddrives, speedfan does but it causes my audio to freeze every 3 and 1/2 minutes for a few milliseconds but that rather gets on my ****.

but most things arent meant to operate in that sort of temps as it shortens life span, or so i've been lead to believe.

case temps and mother boards are ~51oc which i thought was extremely high

lol, well i spose my temps arent that bad yet.

the harddrive closest to the fans is 28 but the one furthest away and over the DVD drive is 39 and thats with the cover off. cpu load is about 40 and 46, idle is about 32 and 38. :( i miss my 900 with sub 25oc cores and rediculously low temps :p

ah well, cheers for the post :)

Nah they are fine, what cpu have you got? I've got a 4800+ in my SN25P and temps are up to 65  with mobo at 56 or so.
lmao well that made me feel good :D i got a x2 4200 @ 2.75GHz (1.425v)

i've moved it on to the top of desk instead of under it on the floor and that has made all the difference all the temps are now less then 40 (well, just, system - 39oc) but yer seem ok cpu 30oc and board is 36oc

temps on the gfx card at idle - 50core/43ram, load 58-66core/47-50ram

but i wouldnt have thought that the gfx card is the problem. and the harddrive over the DVD-RW is getting to around the 40's ~ 43oc most of the time as there is basically no ventilation for it. i have comtemplated removing the the DVD-RW but i know i'll need it as soon as i take it out. :(
