Alright everyone, my spec's in my cig right now.

At this moment in time im buying windows 7 64bit to replace my good old win XP 32bit.

Should i....

A: Buy 2gb extra ram to fit in with my windows 7 then later on find a cheap quad core to replace my E6600. (as my budget isnt high enough to buy a quad atm just ram)

or B:

Wait a few months using my 2gb and E6600 now and see what sandy bridge prices come down to and sell my cpu ram mobo and upgrade when i have more money?

or C: Just buy the 2gb for the sake of it with win 7 and do plan B later on?

And also if i do plan C, will i benefit much from using 4gb on 64bit win 7 compaired to 2gb?

thanks

Go with 2gb extra ram, your cpu seems clocked nicely and see what happens later with AMD new cpu's and SB.

does your machine struggle now? if the answer is no, then save up and see how the AMD-Intel price war developes when bulldozer comes out.

how much will i benefit with 4gb over 2gb in windows 7 though please?

thanks

depends on what you use it for and if you feel you are running low on ram. windows 7 i think uses between 512mb-1gb so would still leave some for apps, but if you have the budget for 2GB then worth having in my opinion.
