Hey guys, I'm after a TV for the bedroom. Mainly for the wife so I can watch sports ane re-runs of Wheeler Dealers in the lounge without her scowling at me! :D

I'm a Samsung fanboy so I'm looking at their 50" range (I've measured the bedroom and 50" is the sweet spot) but in the price bracket I'm looking (£500-600) there are numerous options and I'm puzzled. We don't need the last word in cutting edge technology as this is just for her to fall asleep watching Real Housewives of Cheshire I expect, but on the off-chance I ever watch it would like it to be half decent.

The ones that stand out are: (not sure if I can post links to the Sammy website as they're an OCUK competitor?)

AU7100 (£431)
AU9000 (£566)
Q65T (£584)
Q65A (£584)
Q60A (£539)

They all look broadly the same to me and I've read through all the specs but can't see any real obvious differences. Am I right in thinking QLED is better than then AU variants? Any other thoughts or ideas?

They’re all much of a muchness. You won’t notice any big difference unless you move up to a full array panel. I bought a full array QLED for my bedroom and will now never go back to edge lit. Totally different class.

Ok thanks guys, I've read good things about the AU7100 so might go for that if there's no real benefit in one of the QLED ones on the list for £100 more?

If you're not getting an OLED which is the superior technology no doubt, then definitely get a QLED instead. If it's only £100 for a TV you will have for years, then don't even think twice.

Why not? I have a nice QLED in my bedroom. As good as living rooms are, I love chilling on my bed and watching TV, so I still want a good TV.
Because OLED & QD-OLED are by far the best panels to use for rooms with low lights levels like in a bedroom

Unless the OP bedroom is lit up like bright day light when he watches tv..

I misunderstood your post. I thought you was questioning why he wanted an OLED for the bedroom. Sorry
