Help me diagnose my random restarts?

My main computer seems to hate me at the moment, it works fine for anywhere between 2 and 30 minutes, and then restarts itself, with all the lights still on, but no signal to the monitor.

Can't figure out what's going on, have run a virus scan, tried system restore, updated video drivers, run memtest for 3-4 hours, and am stuck!

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Not a lot tbh, various warnings, but nothing just before shutdown, and on resume I get something along the lines of it may have lost power (or may have not), and no hints into anything at all.

That was my first course of investigation unfortunately.

I get no bluescreen either, so no crashdump :/

with the random restarts it should give you and event to say windows has recovered from an improper shutdown. are you getting them in Event Viewer?

I get:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Details tab:

Well I think it was my audio, ironically I think I solved that myself yesterday afternoon after updating my audio and video drivers, after that no crashing!

Yet another problem has developed...

My audio will not work.
Device comes up as installed. In Sounds in the CP, input and output devices appear as usual, but the sound icon in the bottom right corner has a red cross on it, and hovered over says "no audio output device installed" and nothing appears under "levels" when I go Speakers>Properties>Levels tab; where you would usually expect slider bars for volume.

Tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling, tried all manner of disabling and enabling, deleting old drivers, installing custom drivers, am at my wits end with this new problem!

Sounds like exactly the problem I had.

In the end I had to get a PCI sound card because no matter what I couldn't get the on board working again.
