Hi all,

For a few months now, (with the setup in my sig) I have been getting constant BSOD's on the Vista loading screen ever since overclocking. It normally takes 2-3 attempts to get into Vista.

I have settled for a decent overclock of 3.7GHz, and I know that it's stable hence these results on a Small FFT's test in Prime95.

And the NB voltage is 1.3500V.

I still don't understand why it takes 3 attempts to get into Windows with a stable overclock. My RAM is on the QVL for my mobo so that should be OK.

And the high temp you see in CoreTemp is because the CPU was just winding down from the stressing.

Any help on sorting out this problem would be great, it's really starting to annoy me!

Thanks.

Assuming you've burnt the ISO properly (ie. not just added it as a file to a data CD):

I think that is where I am going wrong. I popped in the CD, and clicked on the 'Burn files to disk using Windows' it formatted the disk and I dragged the .iso file onto the disk.

I restarted, went into the BIOS and setup the boot priority to CD drive first then restarted again. The drive whirred but nothing and I booted into Vista (with 3 BSOD's on the way of course)!

As soon as I go into Memtest, there is a bit of testing, but then within seconds the PC just restarts. Is that a sign of problems?

However that is when I boot the 1) Single CPU (Default)

But when I boot 2) Multiple CPU (Experimental) I go into the main memtest screen, but nothing seems to be happening =/

Once again, sorry to be a bother.

Do you think an RMA would be necessary with the memory? I will try the sticks in different colours then narrow it down to single sticks..

Thank you very much all for the help!! It's greatly appreciated!

Make sure you are testing the ram at the default clock speeds. ;)

Thanks for the tip, forgot about that. Going away for a few days so will have to try all of these things when I return.

I had this same problem but much worse with some OCZ ram, but sold that and bought the Kingston =S
