help me embed pdf into xls or doc

I want to hyperlink from a xls sheet or doc to pdf files.

However, this is for distribution and I only want to email one file. Is this possible?

for reference

you have to use embedded package objects

insert>object>package

Then file>import and navigate to your file
Then you can change the picture/icon using copy_paste

Then edit>copy package and paste into document.
