Hey folks now the weather's really starting to get bad I'm planing on picking up a 125 for the trip to work an back each day something that's cheap to run and as bomb proof/drop proof as possible.

Route is less than 10 mind and can either be all main roads with 30 limits and one main road with a 50 or dual carriageway way or country lanes a mixture of all really so will have a fair few options for avoiding the really bad patches.

was thinking maybe something a bit more off road style so it might handle snow a bit better an be a bit more fun in summer but not essential.

Hoping to spend as far south of a grand as possible and it to already have enough mot to last till April.

Had a look on ebay etc but was hoping some of you more experienced folks could help me Fi do some good models that are for sale I know nothing about these bikes really.

So ermm yeah please help me find a 125 that I can fall of and drop in the winter ^_^

A few tins of ACF50 is cheaper. This is the third winter I've run my GS on the commute (30 miles a day) and gave it a good clean up last week. Pretty much still looks like new, apart from one bolt that I must have missed!

Having said that if you just fancy another bike then a trials bike can be a lot of fun :)

its more fairings and tarmac meeting im worried about :p

and yeah i justr want a spare bike for work and a bit of alaugh really.,

5 miles?

Why not just pick up a £300 push bike, no fuel, no tax, no insurance. Job done.

It will add 5 minutes max to your journey

unfit, and i lvie on the top of a hill. would kill me

google interestingly has some good info for cycle routes 500ft elevation change estimates 22 minutes there 40 minutes back

yeah i have decided may as well go bigger than a 125, but havnt really found any small CC bikes with plates/mot
