So the lights on my Christmas jumper last year lasted all of 2 minutes before going dead and a fresh set of 2032 batteries didn't fix the issue, so the jumper was retired to the wardrobe.

As the festive season is nearly upon us, I decided to see if there was a loose connection somewhere. As you'll see from the picture, the black cable has come free from somewhere.

Anyone with simple electronics knowledge care to point out where this wire should be attached to? I'm guessing it's the left most of the three prongs coming from the switch?

Well the photo is useless. Just put batteries in it and touch the wire on what it might be until it works?

Ha! Good point - I had thought of that but wasn't engaging my brain to find a way to bridge the battery cells without the lid being on (copper contacts are in the lid). Bridged the cells with the tweezers and it is indeed the left most pin. No solder there though at all, although not surprising as was probably made on the cheap in the far East.

are you seriously holding the wire with a pair of tweezers to hide your finger nails?

No, I had to hold the phone in one hand and didn't want my other hand to block all the light coming from the spot light coming over my shoulder.
