Hi guys i hope i come to the right place and you lot can try and help me out :)

My problem is my PC locks up on me , Sometimes when i first start the pc the Screen will Freeze on the windows 7 icon, Also sometimes the main screen just after the windows 7 icon will Freeze and lock up ! I have noticed that the light on my Razor Death adder turns off so cant do anything with the mouse , it still lets you press the keys on the keyboard ? Is this software issue with windows 7 ?

The main problem i have is , when i turn the pc off from the power ! my pc goes in to reapir mode and says it cant load windows up ! its driven me mad as it says it cant fix the problem and the only way around it is to reinstall windows 7 again :( It also does a Memory Dump ? Whats this all about ? ) Then it says i have a corupt section on my Hard drive ? i take it this has happend as i turned it off from power button.

Anyone got any ideas what the problem is ? Could it be my PSU ? its got to be about 4 years old now.

Sounds like you are having a BSOD (blue screen of death) the indication is that you have a corrupt sector on your HD, but it may be several possible things. I would start by checking all your cables etc... If you have a spare HD try installing a new OS on this and see if your problem persists. If you dont have a spare HD try installing a new OS anyway to this and see if the problem persists.

The first thing I would check is your memory. Have a look in the bios, timings correct, voltage etc etc? As mentioned above, try running memtest for a while after you're sure your ram settings are correct.

I don't really know what the problem would be with your hard drive. Sounds like you may have caused the problem if you unplugged your machine whilst it was still running?

I would check the memory first and then format your drive before re-installing windows.

Hopefully somebody else may be able to give a little more help, I would start with the above though :)

2.1v with ddr2 should be fine. Tried losening the timings a tad? Is it running SPD timings or have you tightened them? Memtest86+ is my advice, that does sound like a typical example of dodgy memory to me mate.
