help me fold again

i installed a x800GTO into my pc in order to run a 3rd monitor, however i now have the problem of not being able to fold on my primary GPU, which is a 4870 without my pc crashing

i am running the console version of F@H GPU

what are my options?

Have you got a log from the client running on the 4870 ? Might be clues hidden in there.

the last few lines of the log from the GPU client, it was not set to a specific core as i dont know how to do that

Have you tried clearing out the work directory and the queue.dat file ?

I've had some dud data repeatably crash one of my clients/computers once so I just cleared it out and let it download some more files.

i think the issue is its trying to fold with the x800GTO that is not compatable with F@H GPU. how do i get F@H to assign work to my 4870 only

There are gpu flags that people use on multi-gpu setups - you could try adding -gpu0 (or -gpu1) when running to try and get the client to target a specific GPU.

i have just tried adding the flag(s) you suggested, they prevented my pc from crashing however it also made the monitor that is connected to my x800GTO useless as it only seems to show a black screen.

would it be easier for me just to buy a low powered ati card that is compatable with folding at home such as a 3450?

the problem is sorted.

put in a borrowed 2400 and used the flag -gpu0 and all problems have been solved.

going to order a 3450 now.
