Help me get off online gaming

MMO's should be banned. I swear it must be worse than comming off heroin. Quit wow 3 years ago and still think about it.

I think Linux is the way to go for you.

or not i think with wine it works on linux I think its gold as well sorry to ruin your fun could try unix ;) :P or just don't get wine.

Get a decent laptop with a cack gcard, put an ssd in it.

Wasn't their some guy in japan who spent 10 days in an internet cafe playing WoW non-stop till he died?

you need another hobby to take up your time. just stopping playing will be too hard because you will have too much free time and boredom will lead back to wow.

you wont want to hear this either but WOW actually runs on Netbooks...

Go on an active holiday that keeps you away from the Internet. I just got back from a 2 weeks downhill mtb roadtrip around Europe and can safely say online banking aside, I didn't miss the Internet one bit, let alone any online gaming (Though I don't play MMORPGs anyway). You'll realise just how little you actually end up doing when you're on it, and how much you could be doing otherwise.

i only played 30minutes of wow and throught....the following

this is the dullest most annoying game I ever played, that set things in motion for me and MMORPGs:P than I got archlord instead. I perfer that tbh still can find your self on it for ages through

simple enough get a nice first person shooter like HF2, or just stay away from the PC :P

do road cycling or something

Log in select your chars and goto the delete button type confirm hit enter do this for all your char's log out goto the website for wow log in goto the accounts page cancel account and go to the travel agent book a holiday using the laptop money to amsterdam and goto the RED light district good bye wow. :)

Wow thanks for all the replies  I've decided to go for a decent laptop with integrated gfx

aaah I remember those days. When I first started I asked many people wtf is the point in all this but still played an hour or two a day out of boredom. Six weeks later I had an 'online girlfriend' and was raiding MC with a hardcore guild 5 nights a week....

Strangely enough I've just booked a weekend in Amsterdam, still getting the laptop though.

You have three options that I can see:

1. Cancel the credit/debit card you use to pay for your WOW account.

2. Uninstall WOW and snap the disc in two.

3. Just limit yourself when it comes to playing it.

Basicly, spending money on a netbook just to get away from playing WOW is pointless. Go play some FPS games instead, generally they don't demand anywhere near as much time as MMO games...

I can't think of any game type more boring than MMO tbh, but that is probably just me

Dont delete.. sell.

I've sold my account for £350 on *Bay a month or so ago.. which would go fair way buying cheap booze, cheaper women and those funny cigarettes at the coffee houses over there.

Believe me, I thought I was hooked, took 3 days away from it and reliased just how stupid I'd been for the last however many months/years

Why not come up with some kind of routine to break your gaming cycle?

Goto the gym a few times a week...

Find a pub quiz for folk to goto

Make use of orange wednesdays...

lots of other simple things you can do...

Rather than spend your kudos on a netbook, why dont you keep your quad core, and splash the cash on a holiday, or even a weekend trip to alton towers or something?

Best advice imo, best way to avoid being hooked on the pc is planning other things you shouldn't call off any more.

Buy tickets to a concert of your fav artists, call your mates and agree to go to meet up, get a 2nd job in the evening ( or a job at all if you're an unemployed bum), get a sports school subscription and go there twice per week, get tickets to a place like Alton towers or six flags or whatever, go on a short holiday with your mates or for a weekend, ectectetc... Plan things to do above playing wow, prefferably group or social events.

or on a nice bike :P and another people around town on it (racing bike)

or put to a motor bike if you can that is
