I've had enough of Plaxo corrupting address books so I closed the account and deleted it. But it still remains somewhere in the background. When opening Address Book, a System Preferences window would open telling me to fix the Plaxo end point or something like that. I then removed Plaxo from Preferences.

Now, when I open Address Book, the System Preferences main window opens.

And all entries in the Address Book still have that stupid sliding Plaxo panel on them.

I always thought removing applications from OS-X was a doddle. I seems like this Plaxo crap has embedded itself somewhat deeper than normal.

Anyone any ideas?

According to the Plaxo website, there's an uninstaller within the folder it drops in Applications - Did you run that or just drag it out of applications? If you didn't run it then I'd consider reinstalling it and then running the uninstaller.

I thought of that but it means re-subscribing to plaxo :(

Oh well. I suppose it may be preferable to the Semtex option
