hi people :)

i have just bought Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers

i have an audigy 2 ZS, and a few questions for you guys ..

at the moment my soundcard is still running with "drivers only" - do i need to uninstall and put the bloatware stuff in from the creative cd to get the best out of my setup (previously on desktop stereo so wasnt bothered)

i remember there was a wav on there that you could play for "front left, front right.. rear left.. rear right" etc

im getting sound through all speakers/sub so if i dont need it thats fine; would this affect eax though ??

and last do i need to do anything special to get windows media player to start playing dts or whatever sound, or will it just see i have changed the settings to 5:1 surround and compensate accordingly ??

thanks everyone for your feedback, im sure these are noob questions :)

I think windows media player may need an add-on for DTS. Haven't used for years so maybe it's changed. If you plan on watching lots of DVD's with your system I'd look into PowerDVD or other similar software. It is somewhat better than media player.

You don't need all of the Creative's bloatware but the control panel may be useful. That way you can check your settings for EAX etc. Never had audigy, only X-fi, but assuming lots is the same or similar
