I’ve a pre order for a VIVE hopefully arriving at the start of April, and at last it’s time to upgrade PC.
PC will be used for gaming (1440p) and VR primarily.
Ideally I’d like to get 3 – 4 years of good performance before having to consider a further upgrade.
Most of my old PC going to wife, so just keeping case/monitor/peripherals.
I’ve put together a few OCUK baskets and have determined the following –
CPU + avg MB
6600k = £335
6700k = £425
5820k = £514
So, given my req’s do you guys think it’s worth spending up to an additional £180 to go from 4 core, 4 threads to 6 core 12 threads, or is the 6700k in the middle the superior bang/£?
GPU wise I’m hoping my overclocked 770 will be enough to get by until Pascal shows, but if not I’ll take the hit and go with a 980ti.
