Okay i know this isnt the best forum to post about ear protection, but i love overclockers so here it goes.

Basically im at uni and some berks keep playing music at 1 in the morning. Now i love a party as much as anyone but not when i have 10 million assignments to do.

Does anyone know any good ear plugs or noise cancellation for me to sleep with. ive tried the foam ones but they keep falling out

are on uni campus, if so you should speak to your warden or something about it.

I dont mean to rude but do you know how to use earplugs? you're supposed to squeeze them into a twig and let it expand inside the ear. They shouldn't just fall out :(

Yeah squeezed them in and that but fall out when i turn and that in bed. I probably got weird ears or something. Yeah already asked them to turn it down, but they are numptys.

I was wondering are there any ear plugs like the sony in ear headphones, you know like the ones that really plug in. Ive tried google but cant find the sort

tbh 1am is to be expected from a uni halls... but 3am... doors are coming off :D

ive seen a few "sleep earplugs" google that. :)

wow thoughs are expensive.. high end eh

there are some earplugs called er-20 and they really plug in. but wouldnt be very comfortable sleeping with them since they hang out a bit.

i have a feeling most of the earplugs you buy will just fall out of the ear, if so you might be looking at custom fitted plugs and they dont come cheap (starts from 80ish for a pair and you have to replace them every year or two since your ear grows)

im not a fan of the er-20's, they also poke out a fair way so sleeping in the would be impossible. you could either try putting tape over your ears over the foam ones, or do what i do, and find the fuse box for that floor (in my case the fuse shut off the entire floor), it will be around somewhere for "safty" purposes. get friendly with someone in there 3rd year doing something like electronics, they usually know.

go speak to the wardens, they'll take it quite seriously

i never had a problem with music, we had loads of goo..asians that used to cook at weird hours and their woks would set the fire alarms off which meant everyone had to get up and stand outside :(

i wish i was back in halls, so many memories...

One of the little tricks I do when I fancy a long lie and don't want to be disturbed is to turn on a normal oscillating desktop fan, the type you can buy from B&Q for about £6.

It probably sounds crazy but you get used to the low hum of the fan meaning that it blocks out a lot of external noise.

Might be worth a shot anyway.

I love my lie in's :D
