I started lifting again recently after roughly a 2 year break due to work commitments. Silly me goes straight in with the front squats a week or so ago...
Did a brief warm up, warm up sets with the bar felt okay, 40 felt okay... at 60 I started to feel a sharp pain in my chest whenever I put the weight on my shoulders. At 70 the pain got worse, felt like my body was going to collapse so I managed 2 reps and that was that.
Attempted front squats again yesterday and the same situation happened, went in feeling strong, worked up to 80 with the pain only slight on the previous reps and bang, could only just get 80 off the rack, the pain felt like my chest was going to give way again.
The pain seems to be coming from my sternum When I compress my body as if I'm doing crunches, I can feel the niggling but only very slightly. The same niggling was also present when I inhaled heavily yesterday.
Can't think what I've injured or pulled here?
