Help me identify these speakers

Hi all

I have been offered a pair of Wharfedale speakers but the person is not sure on the model number, I have not gone and seen them yet as i am unsure if they are any good. Could someone please help me identify what they are and if they are worth the price tag of £55.

I believe they are the Wharfedale Modus 7, as for the price tag I can't really say as there's not many other ads that can be found and no reviews either

They look like something out of 1970's Doctor Who! Do the tweeters rotate? Obviously looks don't impact upon the sound!

They look more like Wharfedale Modus 8 or Wharfedale Modus One-Six Main, seen them on Ebay from £25.

Usually a plate on the rear giving model number, they had a rating about 125w- 150w @ 8ohms.

Could be Modus 7 or 8, not a bad pair of speaker around 1998!

A friend had a pair of Modus 2's that sounded lovely.

These days they will be worth very little they were not truly outstanding quality wise and they are not exactly nice to look at add to that the size and weight pretty much rules out postage!

Modus Seven

Not great, mid->late 90s Wharfedale wasn't all that and these weren't a flagship model or anything.

for 25-30 quid they will sound alright
