I was going to upgrade my parts and go for a i5 processor and get the ati 5870 card but advice in the hardware section of the forums has said its just as well overlocking my processor and buying the 5870 and saving the cash.

So if possible, could someone talk me through what to do to get my speed up on this processor if possible!

Thanks in advance :)

Cant talk you through overclocking, best thing to do is look here

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17612922

Read well, its an easy process but it takes time, be sure to test for stability useing Prime95 or similar.

Its important to keep an eye on temps and take your time, dont want to kill any hardware.

Its worth learning and doing it yourself, its knowledge you'll never forget and its a great feeling to get a good stable overclock.

:D

edit; should add that using this guide i got my Q9550 from 2.8Ghz to 3.7Ghz, was scary to start with as ive never messed with BIOS settings.

If you have question which im sure you will then search for answers on the boards first, theres lots of info already here and people get tired of answing the same questions. Specific questions are more likely to get answered, no-one minds helping you if you've researched first.

Good luck
