Help me Install Windows 7? CD/DVD device driver is missing

I was not being condencending.

Something was going wrong, he himself says that he is going mad, so I was merely offering to do it for him.

Why is that condencending?

Yes I know you can, I use ISO Images and USB Flash drives to install Windows and Linux all the time, I was only stating that with teh two option that you were given to try, you didnt seem to be giving them a go, and neither of them were saying to make the disk bootable and copy files because both options did everything for you.

No sorry, I never said that.
I meant that you can take the HD out of this, and put it into another PC to start off the installation.
That way you will at least get a better idea as to why it fails ( if it still fails )

Why? Over this? How interesting. Makes me wonder really. Sure, I was wrong, but I was only trying to help... And you add me to your ignore list?
Takes all sorts I suppose?

Ok, so good news in the end
Im a little concerned that you have to download for a 4th time.

So, after all of this, is it a legal copy?

I am glad you are concerned. Thank you for your help.

No it is an illegal copy that I downloaded via torrents, works well though. Lets hope I don't get caught though eh? ;) Give me a shout if you would like a copy though.

But just to add some help to any passer bys to this thread,

http://www.istartedsomething.com/20090706/windows-7-iso-verifier/

This verified the ISO I had on my laptop wasn't correct, but the next one I downloaded was. Saved me some time, and seemed like thats all that was at fault.

No thanks.

Im quite annoyed with myself though.

Since finding XP64 many years ago, I have gone fully 64Bit and I have never gone back.

Snag is, that I have gone 64Bit on all my PCs, and thats not cheap.

I then upgraded half my PCs to Vista, I only did half bnecause most simply didnt play ball very well with Vista, then, SP1 came along and made it better but not right and SP2 sorted them out enough, so I upped to Vista too.

Now, along comes Win7 and I get hold of that and what happens?

It works great, I go off and buy a further 7 copies and hey presto, along comes a hookie copy of that, and it works great too!

In the last 3 years I have spent over £2000 on Licences for versions Windows and in all the cases I have got hold of cracked versions too, but only AFTER I have bought the full packages.

What I have done though, is that on the LAN PCs, they are all running the cracked versions, but they still have their licences, I have only done this because the cracked versions got around activation. That alone bugs the nipples off me.
