Help me keep my radiator cool?

ok so I have a Alphacool Nexxxos Monday 480mm rad, yes it's stupidly thick and an overkill haha. I got this a few years ago after upgrading from the standard 45mm thick 240mm rad.

Ok so when I upgraded I added 2 extra fans to make the length and I saw no decrease in temps, it might have even gone up a little I don't remember.

So now I'm in a open air P5 case, and have just decided to play around with the rad.

The fans will have high rpm I have forgot what they are but I'm sure I would have choose high ones.

I know you shouldn't do it because temps don't really change but I'm thinking if I add 4 more fans on the outtake of the rad it might just help cool it a bit more. I'm not sure if because it's so thick if the air is easily passing through.

Would it be a waste of money sticking the four fans on? I'm sure it wouldn't as more air is being pulled and pushed through. I wouldn't be happy about the noise though.

What are you cooling don't forget its summer temps are up how's your case air flow are dust filters clean?

If air flow is ok try bleeding the loop for trapped air if that fails try reseating the CPU block with fresh paste.

I'm using a 560 rad that's 60mm in thickness with low rpm fans far better than using a multi rad set up..

What fans are they?

Is they are just case fans, the lack of static pressures might mean air is not getting pushed through a set of decent Radiator fans might make all the difference.

While it's true that putting fans in series (stacked) can't increase their airflow above that of the highest fans CFM, it does combine their static pressure which means that if their airflow is being obstructed by something (I.E a big stonking radiator) they will have more power to fight through that obstruction thus increasing airflow in the process.

You're rad is fairly high FPI (for it's width) and extra thick which means it should benefit from fans on both sides for optimal performance.

With the monsta rad push pull would be the way to go but you need some decent sp fans to pull the air through it.

Thanks for the help people.

So I have decided to get some static pressure fans, place these on the intake of the rad. Then use my 4 silent fans on the outtake of the rad, or should I just get 8 static pressure fans?

Can anyone recommend a 120mm static pressure fan? I know it's rated in mmH2O, but some have higher ratings even at lower rpm.

I think the general consensus was dont mix fans, otherwise you have issues with one fan pushing but acting as a barrier for airflow as the AF will want to move more air etc.

Match them in pairs

Maybe pick 4 up try them and see if it helps? also pair up the other AF's and retry etc.

buying 8 new fans with no idea if it will help gets expensive quick :x
