Help me like GTA4

I played some GTA games In the past but:

I found the driving of the cars incredibly difficult.

I want to get this game after all the hype on these forums, I "want" to
get excited and feel left out because the whole world except me Isnt
looking forward to It.

what Is so good about these games? what am I missing?

PS- I like shooting because I play COD4 online
I like Driving because I play Forza 2 and PGR4.

This thread wasnt ment to sound so Vague lol.
 
Never had a problem with the controls on any of the GTAs. Driving is pretty easy I find, I certainly had no issues getting a first on all of the races on Vice City and San Andreas.
 
Despite what has been said, the controls are vastly improved over older GTA's.

However, the driving is said to be more realistic (obviously not as realistic as the likes of Forza, but in comparison to older GTA's it is)

Old GTA driving was really easy, so I am surprised you found it difficult.

The reason why I love GTA:

- Freedom to do pretty much anything you like
- Detailed cities with lots going on
- Very funny games, from radio adverys, dialogue, random GTA moments
- Great story lines and single player experience

GTA IV now has a vast array of MP modes as well. So all the fun of just cruising the city, get in police chasing, exploring the city, can now be enjoyed with up to 15 friends.

However, if you don't like GTA, don't force yourself to buy the game.

Nor me but that's because they made the races easier to compensate for crap controls. Every other free roaming game has better controls, such as crackdown and saints row.

I take it this is first hand experience from you playing the game for more than 6 hours then ;)

I never said I found the game/controls hard, just crap and unresponsive/unrefined.
