I've recently popped a whole load of blue LEDs in my case and I had an idea for something just to sit on the bottom inside of the case so when I glance down I can see it through the case window.
What I want to have/build is a little LED readout which can show the temperature of the case.
I'm imagining it would be a few blue LED displays connected to a circuit board. A bit like this:
I would prefer it to look barebones rather than have any kind of case.
Powered by the PC itself or a cell battery/remote battery that I can secrete somewhere in the case. Not sure how long any of these types of batteries would last.
At this time I have no electrical tools like a soldering iron any or expertise in electronics, except what I learned in school. Any suggestions on sources for the parts or tools I'll need are welcome.
If you have any other ideas of what else could be displayed on the unit please suggest. Or if there is anyone here who has the expertise and tools who would like a little project...
