Help me mount my cooler

I've been building PCs for decades but I have been defeated by AMDs stock cooler!

I've got an A320M-S2H motherboard with its standard backplate. I've removed the plastic clip things but left the backplate on so it's go the little black "standoffs" poking through the motherboard.

I've got a 2600X with its Wraith Spire cooler. The screws on the heatsink align with the backplate standoffs just fine.

However the back plate stand off legs just seem too short! The heatsink is resting on the CPU and the screws barely reach the standoffs. If I screw one in a couple of turns only, the other side of the heatsink pivots up and the screws won't ever reach the stand offs. I'm putting firm but not excessive force on the heatsink as I don't want to squish my new CPU. It's as if the CPU itself is too tall.

I did in the end thanks, just forced it a bit more. Still not quite right because I see threads of one of the screws so it's not right down but it won't go down any further!
