Hi,

I am writing a multiplayer game that is kind of a cross between total annihilation/warzone 2100 and an FPS. You base build, build vehicles etc and use these in an FPS environment.

It is early on in the game and I want to get a blog started so people can follow my progress but, given I am a programmer not an artist, I am struggling with a name for it and don't really want to have to change it in the future!

Any ideas welcome. The only condition is that if I ever go for steam greenlight it has to be compatible with that; i.e not offensive and not one that will clash with anything that might cause me to change it!

As a reward you can name the first Mech type in the game, if you want to.

Note there is no guarantee that this will ever get finished, but a name for people to follow would be good.

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks for (some) of the ideas, really appreciate them :)

The game is probably closer to Renegade than the brilliant Dungeon Master at the moment as all the building is envisaged to be from the FPS perspective. But the idea is that you build the stuff and then can use it in a RTS way whilst in combat. So if you base includes a collection of Ripple Rockets you can call these down whilst engaged in combat. Or if you want to raid another players base you can knock out the energy giving components to render his static defences useless etc. Or gear your factory up to produce a mech and then pilot this into battle.

As I said, early days at the moment. And a one man team in limited spare time! But I have artillery turrets you can call down and a mech you can pilot so there is progress and it would be nice to see if the game attracts any attention!

Wow, thanks for all the great responses. Build Command Destroy is my favourite so I think I will go with that. Also really liked Show Of Force and Armored Empire.

They have got rid of greenlight but replaced it with direct so still the objective. Actually, Direct should be easier to get on as they have removed the voting aspect, but still need something worth putting on!

IF I get to the point of this actually needing Alpha testers you will all be welcome!

Thanks again to everyone taking the time to help.
