Hi 8Pack

Can you please assist me in overclocking my 5820k?

My system:
5820k
Gigabyte 5P Gaming
16gb Trident X DDR 4 2666mhz
Corsair H100i GTX Hydro (apache fans)

Thanks

Last night I ran real bench for 15 mins on the following settings:

125 strap X 36 = 4.5ghz
Vcore 1.3
LLC high
Phase control extreme performance
Uncore auto. (4.12)

The test completed in 15 mins with max temp 2 degrees of TJ Max.
Seems hot to me. Some have said that I need to reseat cpu

H100i not really a great cooler for X99 with 1.3V. I would check your mount though as you do seem about 10C off.

You could lower all ancillary voltages to drop your load temps down. For 2666mhz mems only very low sa etc is needed. Start with low Cache too like around 3000mhz then you don't need OC socket and the additional heat created with Ring / Cache Voltages.

The voltage settings on my board are a little different to what I'm used to. I usually use Asus boards. So I'm not sure about these different voltage settings.
Can you give me a little of an idea what voltages I need to lower to help temps.
What are the ancillary voltages and what should I lower them to?
You mentioned about low cache as well and 3000mhz, I'm confused there
Thanks 8pack

Is the pump running ok? 2c below tj max sounds a bit high. With 1.31v and a cheaper antec 1200 in a 5820k @4.5ghz max I'm hitting 77c max under Intel xtu. Lowering vcore volts will have the biggest impact on load temps, but id also look into remounting the cooler too.

Could you explain that in a simple way

ok, so ive reseated my cooler. so far it looks to be 5 degrees lower. Someone mentioned that it takes a short while for artic silver to set and i should see a gradual decrease in temps. heres hoping

update:
performed a realbench benchmark and passed on below settings:

125 strap @ 4500mhz
uncore 3.75
xmp off
temps about 85 degrees
