Just started trying to overclock my E5200. I have read the above guide but still have some questions.

Board - Zotac 9300 ITX
Chip - E5200 Lapped
Cooler - Some piece of rubbish that could fit the case
Memory - Black Dragon 2 x 2Gb PC2-8500

So far I have disabled the cool n quiet sort of stuff, unlinked the ram and upped the FSB to 225. PC booted straight up at 2.8.

Should the memory but unlinked?

Core Speed - 2812.3Mhz
Multi - 12.5
Bus Speed - 225Mhz
Rated FSB 899.MHZ

Memory

FSB : DRAM 8:14

Well I have stuck with 3Ghz on stock volts 1.250.

240 x 12.5

I was going to go higher but when I upped the volts in the bios it didnt seem to apply. I guess 3Ghz is quite good on stock though.

I managed to get a e5200 to 3.5 on 1 stick of 2gb 800mhz and with a cheap msi motherboard and stable, with stock cooler also. Not really sure how its possible but it was nice haha

E5200's are very hit or miss when it comes to clocking. Some max out at 3.2Ghz and sometimes (rarely though) they manage 4Ghz+. Normally it's 3.4-3.6Ghz. It does'nt matter what cooling you have either. Mine maxxed out at 3.6Ghz no matter what voltage i gave it and that's with a decent custom water cooling set-up. I ended up selling mine for what i paid for it and got a E6300 Pentium dual core. That does 3.5Ghz on stock volts and 4Ghz with a Zalman CNPS 9500 air cooler.

Cheers for the replies.

Im just trying to get my 3.0Ghz stable now. Seemed ok on stock volts but one of the cores failed after a few mins of prime95.
