It's running now at 3.5GHz (270x13) at 1.33v. I've had it up to 3.64 (280x13) prime stable at 1.375v. I want to see if I can go any higher. But am I right in thinking I'll destroy the chip if I try 1.4v or more?

You won'd destroy the chip, but you have to make sure that your cooling can handle the increased temps, ideally you want to try and stay below 1.4v for 24/7 use unless u have very good cooling.

That being said it won't harm it if its for a few hours at a time trying for higher overclocks and for benching. Iv even pumped 1.6v into my cpu and it still lives, its all about if ur cooling can handle the temps.

So i would say give it ago, but keep an eye on temps, if they are way to high, then reboot, and go back to ur normal overclock.

My E5200 requires 1.45v for full stability at 4.1ghz, won't boot above that due to a FSB wall, no matter what volts are set :(.

Mine will do 3.8Ghz but it needs 1.45v, but it will do 3.4Ghz on stock volts, so this is how i run it 24/7. Another plus is that running it at 1066FSB, allows me to run my RAM 1:1 with the CPU.

I'm only using the stock heatsink because I've lost my tube of arctic silver 5 and couldn't whack my freezer 7 pro on top. That said, it only maxes out at 70C at 3.64GHz. Which is fine. I'd want a bigger heatsink before shoving any more volts through it.

I thought there was an electron migration problem above 1.4v?
