Hi guys I have never really overclocked before and I was wondering if you guys could help me through this ?

I have tried setting my CPU higher using clockgen but my PC just locks and I have to re-boot.

those look ok to me... vcore is already higher than stock iirc and ram is also on a divider....soooo

just lock the AGP/PCI (66/33 is the option you want) and edge the fsb up

edit 5mhz at a time.... checking for stability each time (occt is usually a good prog for pushing as it only takes 30mins and seems quite sensitive)

when it fails occt bump up the vcore more (dont go past 1.65 cpu-z/MBM5 reading not bios)

then push again... when it fails to go higher back off a little and run SP2004 (the orthos beta) and run for 10hrs plus

How do I lock the AGP

Also do I change these setting through the bios or the asus tool or clockgen ?

Ok I have set AGP/PCI to 66/33 what software shall I use to monitor my temps ?

When I start OCCT it asks me what monitoring software am I using, what should I use ?

for that board i would say MBM5 (motherboard monitor 5)

and yes.... i think its best to always use the bios

How do I know which temp is which ?

Would the higher temp be the CPU ?

Also when should I start to worry about temps ?

well i would assume so... but when you start the test the CPU one should go up more than the case/system temp, so you will know if you have it right...

(but 2 out of the 4 P4C800's i have said the sys temp has been lower than the CPU which is unlikely... i put it down to the way the CPU sensor is calibrated upto 7c lower than it should be)

start worrying at 50+ under load... i would say anything under 55c is ok, around 50c load (and below) is where you want to be really.
