Hi all.

I have a amd64 3200 cpu with retail hsf on a dfi expert mobo with a gig of corsair ram.

I have been out of the loop quite a while and this motherboard is a bit more complicated than what i am used to dealing with!

So how do i go about overclocking my chip on this board?

:o

I have read the sticky many times! I just need some help with this mobo in particular because its rather complicated.

I don't have one of those myself so I can't help you, but if you posted a more specific question you'd get more relevant responses. Is there a particular setting in the BIOS setup which you don't understand, for example?

For a start, my old motherboard had a HTT section so i made sure it stayed at about 1000. But i cant see a setting on this motherboard.

Also there is two places to chage cpu voltage, and i dont know whats the difference!

the DFI has it showing as x1/x2/x3/x4/x5 x5 = FSBx5 = 1000mhz HTT (if the FSB is set at 200mhz) cant remember where it is though... ill have a look next time i remember.

oh, its called LDT/FSB frequency ratio. see this screen...

also... the CPU startup voltage wants to be the same as whatever you use to OC to. ie if the other voltage requires 1.5v to stabilise the OC then the startup voltage should be 1.5v

HTH.

CPU VID Control = voltage in volts. CPU VID Special Control = percentage of the CPU VID Control...

eg if CPU VID Control = 1.3v and CPU VID Special Control = 110% then real CPU voltage = 1.43v (1.3x110%).

Ok i upped the fsb from 200 to 210, 220, 230,240 and it was stable as a rock, although i did up the voltage to 1.425v and use a memory devider.

But as soon as i got to 250 i cant get it to boot. It just restarts every 3/4 seconds after you turn it on. I dont even get a picture on the screen before it reboots, and it just keeps doing it till i turn the pc off and reset the bios.

I have tried upping the voltage of the ram, cpu and northbridge but it hasnt helped.

I know this chip can to 2700mhz as i have done it on my old board. So whats going wrong?

No but it worked fine up to 2400mzh? Ive just been playing again and i cant even get it to 2100 mhz now! Same problem as what i was getting at 250fsb.

What the hells wrong with this thing! :(

I have tried reducing it to 4 and its still giving me the same problem, and thats trying to get 210fsb working, somthing that was working fine before with HTT set to auto!
