Help me pick a GTX 1070 please

I've only really just "stressed or used" the card since I've purchased it.

I ran Heaven (extreme settings) for about 10-15 minutes and coil whine was very noticeable. I closed it and left it for a while. Moments later, I ran the same test but noticed the coil whine seemed to decrease over time.

My question is, can coil whine "break in" and disappear gradually over time?

EDIT
I take that back, it's back again. It's driving me mad!

It seems there is mild coil whine when under load but eventually disappears. When pushed (78c, 40% fan speed...), there are quite faint buzzing sounds coming from the graphics card but I'd take this over the whining!

This is first time I've gotten a card with coil whine. I take it's common and just have to accept it?? This card (~27cm in length) just managed to fit in my case, so I'm quite limited in what other GTX 1070 cards I could get as well

Luck of the draw with coil whine. Sometimes you can try the same card in 5 different systems... in 4 of them it's as quiet as a church mouse, then in the 5th... it whines. Or it makes make a noise in all 5!!! Sometimes you just can't win. A return via DSR (or what ever it's called these days) is obviously open to you if you want to try again.

My EVGA 1070 FTW is totally silent under any amount of stress, even if rendering very high frame rates (when pretty much any PSU &/or card will start to make a noise).

Very much a lottery with graphics cards in general. Take the "issue" with the Micron memory currently being used in the 1070/80 cards. If you believe the hype, no card with Micron memory will OC. Well mine is fine at 8,800Mhz. Not disputing that some folks have an issue, it's just not all. Then there's the "supposed" hot spot "issue". Not denying a couple of of folks have had their cards go pop (and it is in that area). But is it coincidence? Defective components (IE. caps/resistors etc.)? or is there "really" a problem with heat in these cars? Who know. I certainly don't. So I'll just continue to use my card until/if something happens, secure in the knowledge that EVGA have one of the best (if not "the" best) warranty in the business.

Sorry for the long post and I suppose that I've wandered off topic a bit.

I decided to RMA the EVGA card in the end.

I bought a MSI GTX 1070 Armor (my previous card was also an MSI which I was happy with) and I couldn't be happier with it.
Samsung memory - which I was surprised with - and absolutely zero coil whine even when running Heaven (and even when there are very high frame rates).
