Hi,

Been looking for a monitor for a couple of days now, I was going to purchase the Samsung 27D850D 27inch but found out today that it's gone back up to its original price.

I wanted a 1440p resolution screen as couple of people on here advised me my graphics card will struggle with fps on a 4k monitor.

Willing to spend £320 and was wanting a 27inch monitor.

Thanks Dan

Topher I know what you're getting at but honestly at 1440p you're able to play with AA keep the textures on high and it looks absolutely stunning compared to 1080p. My brother uses 1080p monitors upstairs and comes downstairs and is shocked by the quality on my Hazro 1440p everytime :). 1440p and lower settings over 1080p maxed IMO

what games do you play? do you want to max the graphics settings?

Everybody Thanks for getting back :)

The games I will be playing in the next couple of months are battlefield and the new grand theft auto and a few others.

Well I don't want to max the graphics out fully but would be nice to keep them ultra / high still.

You'll be absolutely fine I played games at 1440p on ultra/high with my 670@680 speeds and I5 3570K @ 4.4 at really good frame rates :) and your system is better than my old one :)

Gibbo OcUK mod said they would honour the price of the Samsung 27D850D 27 for £319 is that one a batter pick than the Samsung S27A850TS 27

thoughts please ?

Have you thought about a g-sync monitor? No more screen tear but at they are all TN panel's.

I am also looking for a new monitor and no doubt the samsung's will have better colours but a 144hz monitor should handle motion better especially with g-sync even if your fps doesn't match the monitor refresh rate.

Although saying that I have seen a few post on here saying your don't get screen tear on 120/144hz monitors with out g-sync even if fps doesn't mathe!!! Don't see how.

Nice of gibbo to agree to £319 for the Sammy, how did you manage that?

No never thought about a g-sync monitor, don't know much about them really.
Think I will stick with the Samsung as its a good deal but thanks anyway m8 :)

They were a deal on 25th to 28th on the Samsung for £319 but missed out as I didint see it

So I asked gibbo and he was really kind enough to Honer the £319 price. :)

Yeah, I was eyeing up the same monitor but incorrectly assumed it was a deal that was running until the new year!
