hi guys, i have made other threads on the topic of picking motherboards, cpu's etc.
i've had many responses and ideas from all the helpful people on the forum.
i have decided that in march i will be getting a i5 2500k cpu, and a motherboard.
i need help choosing a motherboard out of these 3. please feel free to offer suggestions also - around the same price range.

This motherboard is just sooooo, ridiculously, insanely, good, I achieved this benchmark at 5.1 GHz on AIR how can this be possible?

AsRock Z68 Ex4 G3, [email protected] , G. Skill RipsawsX 8GB,
5850 1GB(CFX), CM90 II Advanced, Crucial M4 256GB, 4 HDDs,
NH-D14, XFX 850W BE, Xonar Essence STX, BlackGold HD DVB.

Asus boards are very good but z68's seem to have an issue with reseting on boot. I'd go for the Asrock.

I would not say an issue since you get one or two guys and suddenly everybody thinks all Z68 boards have issues, Gigabyte seem to have more issues with cold boots but you have to remember it could be third party hardware related so saying its the board you have to be 100% certain, personally no issues with my Asus Z68 V/Gen3 board which has been solid even overclocked, got to love UEFI BIOS and Intel nic, some nice features :).

Can't praise the Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3 highly enough, it's the most user friendly board I've ever used and has all the features you're ever going to need. Overclocks like a beast and is rock solid.
The only problem is since the last bios update there's too much choice on the fan control in the UEFI. It used to be level 1 to 9, now it's changed to Level 0 to 255
I just can't decide whether to have my NH-D14 fans at 825rpm...822rpm or 819rpm, at Idle then let them speed up at 45C, 46C or 47C
Then there's the 3 Apache Super Silents, should I have them at 622rpm or 627rpm and let them speed up at 50C or 51C. Or should I have them controlled by the system temp instead of the Cpu temp

I don't know...sooo many choices :D (Only kidding...It's fantastic really)
*now when's that Corsair Obsidian 550D Quiet Midi Tower Case coming out, so it can have the home it deserves, instead of being cramped inside my P180*

Got the ASRock Extreme 4 myself, awesome board. My last was an ASrock too after having several asus boards fail on me. Can't fault them.
