Hi all.

Im getting a new case in 2 weeks time and im just trying to get ready so I can get to work on it asap with all the bits required.

My rig is as follows

Asus striker 790i
q9650
2 x gtx 280

I plan to watercool the lot. My current rig is all watercooled so really I want to know is this,

Can I mount a triple in the roof space a single on the back exhaust fan and a double in the base? Ive seen some pics kicking about various sites but not to sure on the modding part. Any experience out there?

Secondly I have 1 18w swiftech pump. Will this be enough to power the whole loop or am I better going dual loop?

Why intake??

I looked at one of those xspc res's. I currently have one but its only a single loop res so would have to get another plus the extra pump but thats no hardship really.

'cos the case isnt a great breather, so its best to have the rear bringing cold air in to supply the top rad and cool the motherboard a bit.

Im currently building a new machine into an 800D aswell, and Ill be adding 2x120mm fans into the 5.25" bay as an intake. The fans will be bolted together with a gutted 120mm fan sandwiched in the middle.

Well, I agree on 2 loops, but only really as you have 2 cards.

You certainly can mount a triple in the roof. The case, as you are probably aware, is designed to do so. You can mount a double, even a triple in the bottom. But it requires modding. You would need to remove the hard drive cage in the bottom and cut out the bottom of the case. Refer to my build log or TimCiren's for some tips on that.

But ya, the case is huge, even though it quickly feels small. But its quite easy to work with. Just remember its a bad breather, so whatever you decide to mod, always remember that top rad needs air, the more you supply it, the better the cooling efficiency.

hi,
loving this case so far !
just waiting for some fittings to finish the second loop

I love the xspc res,

I will compare running with one pump and two to see if it makes any difference to temps and also maybe try modding the pumps to 10 watt

I already have that res and i agree its a goodun! I think im going to go with 2 loops and 2 triple rads. Was it hard to mount the triple in the bottom of the case?

I have a rs360 in the bottom and a rx360 in the top, , cost £45 and £ 80, but adding the bigger rad made no difference to my CPU temp, so if u can save some money why not if they are in good condition ?
I have just posted my final pix, you might want to check your PSU allows you to fit a 360 in the bottom, I havent seen anyone else do it ...
