Ok guys how can i cheack if my old E6600 is retail are OEM ?
and apart for the HSF you get with a retail is there any other difference ?

The retail comes in a pretty box with a 3 year warrenty? :D If there's an intel heatsink on the top, its a fair chance its a retail processor. But all my intel heatsinks are still in the boxes, I always used an uprated cooler myself.

Thats the thing! its the cpu i was using till i got my q9400 and i dont remember if it was a retail just want to know so i can sell it for more

Hey Th3D0n,

I'm not aware of anyway to distinguish an OEM chip from a retail chip apart from the Certificate of Authenticity that comes with the retail package, if you got that (and maybe the stock HSF) then you can sell it as a full retail unit but if you got the chip only that's gonna be an OEM sale! :p

I wouldn't worry to much, not that many people are gonna pay more for a used Retail chip vs a used OEM chip, as long as it works and is in good condition you should have no problems selling it!

setter, if I took a retail chip out the package and an OEM chip out its little cardboard box and put them on a table would you know how to distinguish which was which? :D

Definitely not wayne, with my shoddy eyesight i couldnt even read the writing on the cpu, id need a set of specs like milk bottle bottoms.:D
