help me quick please permission settings

hi there, just got windows 7 installed on a different partition,

just gone into my documents and settings on my xp partition wilst on win 7 and i cant copy stuff from it i need permissions, now it says i have permissions and i can see stuff on my xp partition but how do i get it so i can copy and paste stuff from it etc?

My suggestion:
1) Take "ownership" of the folders on the old XP drive
2) Add the folders on the XP drive to your Win7 libraries

Thats what I did when I was in the same situation.
#1 is a bit fiddly, so have a google on it first.
